Velvety, dark red flowers with a powerful damask rose fragrance on long stems make the perfect cutting rose. To encourage the long stems- in spring cut all canes back by two-thirds to a bud that is pointing outward from the center of the bush. As stems start to grow in the spring, pinch off lateral growth to encourage the tallest growth possible for each cane. If more than one flower bud forms at the cane end, remove all but the largest bud.
